Readers and foreign news organizations are asking me the meaning of Donald Trump’s foreign policy speech.
On the surface, his speech is contradictory. Trump says he will rebuild US military might so that America will always be first. Yet Trump emphasizes that “we want to live peacefully and in friendship with Russia and China.â€
In a multi-polar world, there is no first country.
Perhaps the “America first†bit is just an effort to ward off neoconservative attacks on his policy of peace. Perhaps Trump means that the US is going to continue to be the top dog, but that the US is going to cease using muscle to make others do what Washington wants.
Trump says that he will put together a fresh team of foreign policy experts, assuming the US has any. Most Americans are full of themselves, and after two decades of neoconservative hubris, finding a fresh team won’t be easy.
Presidents inherit messes that leave them no time to become organized. A president’s appointees have to be confirmed by the Senate, an entity controlled by powerful private interests. Trump will be advised that this and that person cannot be confirmed and that he must send a compromise candidate for Senate confirmation.
Moreover, presidents are outside the loop of black op affairs. A false flag event can be pulled off that sends Trump in the direction desired by the military/security complex or Israel.

Erickson is hardly alone. Bill Kristol has mused about starting a new political party if Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination. It’s almost impossible to imagine George Will or Kevin Williamson supporting Trump.
Glenn Beck declared, “I know that I won’t go to the polls. I won’t vote for Hillary Clinton and I won’t vote for Donald Trump. I just won’t. And I know a lot of people that feel that way.â€
Glenn Beck isn’t a “Republican.” He’s a wild-eyed five-alarm nut who used to do reasonable reporting on real issues. When he started wrapping his head in tinfoil back a few years ago with his “series” on all sorts of various conspiracies he alleged were behind this and that in America the only people he had left were those who hung their hat on his claimed religious beliefs.
But now he’s losing even that group as the last few days have seen evidence of outright insanity displayed on his show featuring paranoid delusional rants.
Here’s reality: Nobody owns the Republican Party, or for that matter any political party. Those who vote a given ticket are the party, whether you like it or not.
Oh sure, the “establishment” can steer, and it does. It can cajole or even threaten, and it both can and does. But in the end a party without voters is a bunch of dudes and dudettes in suits sequestered in a building blowing money like an addled Hollywood actor tosses lines of coke on the glass-topped table for his favorite cadre of hookers.
The effect is about the same too; they feed their own paranoia, waste enormous amounts of money and ultimately their heart explodes, leaving them dead.
The Republican Party has not been “conservative” for a very long time. Conservatives do not allow the government to run trillion dollar deficits, but this Republican Party has.
Conservatives do not fund government agencies that unlawfully spy on Americans and then perjure themselves in front of Congress, but this Republican Party has.
Conservatives do not allow a Secretary of State to run her own email server exposing national secrets and get away with lying about it before Congress without bringing an immediate criminal referral and a contempt citation, but this Republican Party has.

In the 21st century Americans have been distracted by the hyper-expensive “war on terror.†Trillions of dollars have been added to the taxpayers’ burden and many billions of dollars in profits to the military/security complex in order to combat insignificant foreign “threats,†such as the Taliban, that remain undefeated after 15 years. All this time the financial system, working hand-in-hand with policymakers, has done more damage to Americans than terrorists could possibly inflict.
The purpose of the Federal Reserve and US Treasury’s policy of zero interest rates is to support the prices of the over-leveraged and fraudulent financial instruments that unregulated financial systems always create. If inflation was properly measured, these zero rates would be negative rates, which means not only that retirees have no income from their retirement savings but also that saving is a losing proposition. Instead of earning interest on your savings, you pay interest that shrinks the real value of your saving.
Central banks, neoliberal economists, and the presstitute financial media advocate negative interest rates in order to force people to spend instead of save. The notion is that the economy’s poor economic performance is not due to the failure of economic policy but to people hoarding their money…
Negative interest rates, which have been introduced in some countries such as Switzerland and threatened in other countries, have caused people to avoid the tax on bank deposits by withdrawing their savings from banks in large denomination bills. In Switzerland, for example, demand for the 1,000 franc bill (about $1,000) has increased sharply. These large denomination bills now account for 60% of the Swiss currency in circulation.
The response of depositors to negative interest rates has resulted in neoliberal economists, such as Larry Summers, calling for the elimination of large denomination bank notes in order to make it difficult for people to keep their cash balances outside of banks.
Other neoliberal economists, such as Kenneth Rogoff want to eliminate cash altogether and have only electronic money. Electronic money cannot be removed from bank deposits except by spending it. With electronic money as the only money, financial institutions can use negative interest rates in order to steal the savings of their depositors…
…What this picture shows is that government, economists, and presstitutes are allied against citizens achieving any financial independence from personal saving. Policymakers have a crackpot economic policy and those with control over your life value their scheme more than they value your welfare.

Now that’s a screaming case of the pot calling the kettle black if there ever was one. Mitt Romney has lashed out at The Donald for being a “phony and fraudâ€, but consider this. During his 16-years at Bain Capital, fully one-fourth or $600 million of the firms cumulative $2.5 billion of profits were scalped from companies which went bankrupt soon after Mitt and his partners got out of town with the loot.
No wonder the American voters did not believe him when he claimed to be the “job creatorâ€!
Yes, the GOP establishment’s putative “jobs†candidate from 2012 was never really a businessman at all. He was an LBO strip-mining artist who rode the first Greenspan Bubble to riches between 1987 and 2000. Yet in the overwhelming share of the 77 investment deals he superintended during that period, he left behind financial cripples, zombies and Chapter Eleven bait.
I documented this in depth in a chapter of the Great Deformation called “Willard M. Romney And The Truman Show Of Bubble Financeâ€. The portion excerpted in Newsweek In October 2012 honed-in exactly on Romney’s phony claims and is reprinted below:
Bain Capital is a product of the Great Deformation. It has garnered fabulous winnings through leveraged speculation in financial markets that have been perverted and deformed by decades of money printing and Wall Street coddling by the Fed. So Bain’s billions of profits were not rewards for capitalist creation; they were mainly windfalls collected from gambling in markets that were rigged to rise…
Except Mitt Romney was not a businessman; he was a master financial speculator who bought, sold, flipped, and stripped businesses. He did not build enterprises the old-fashioned way—out of inspiration, perspiration, and a long slog in the free market fostering a new product, service, or process of production. Instead, he spent his 15 years raising debt in prodigious amounts on Wall Street so that Bain could purchase the pots and pans and castoffs of corporate America, leverage them to the hilt, gussy them up as reborn “roll-ups,†and then deliver them back to Wall Street for resale—the faster the better…
The waxing and waning of the artificially swollen LBO business has been perfectly correlated with the bubbles and busts emanating from the Fed—so timing is the heart of the business. In that respect, Romney’s tenure says it all: it was almost exactly coterminous with the first great Greenspan bubble, which crested at the turn of the century and ended in the thundering stock-market crash of 2000-02. The credentials that Romney proffers as evidence of his business acumen, in fact, mainly show that he hung around the basket during the greatest bull market in recorded history.
So the jobs creator wasn’t all that, and as a politician he was far worse…

While little appreciated and little studied, there is a gigantic difference between forced associations and free associations. But if you pay attention to the issue, you’ll find that the very act of forcing people together carries a poison in itself. And that poison inevitably bears bad fruit, whether in ethnic hatred, the formation of street gangs, or simply the evils of bullying. Whenever it is that forced associations are examined scientifically, they will be condemned as anti-human.
Free associations, on the other hand, have a magic to them. Leave people alone to do as they wish, in unforced conditions, and even ancient hatreds drain away. This has happened – quietly – in a hundred places and in a hundred times. Wherever free commerce (aka, free human interaction) isn’t forcibly opposed, strangers learn how to get along.
In ancient times, it happened in Rome and Alexandria and Athens and Corinth. In the Middle Ages, it happened in Paris and Hamburg and Lubek and Antwerp. And it will happen again, whenever and whenever people are free to trade and interact as they wish.
And this is what happened on one of the commercial streets of my youth, Devon Avenue. (Devon, by the way, was and still is pronounced da-VON, however incorrectly.)
I have been told by those older than me that Devon was once a very German street. Then the Jews moved in as most of the Germans moved away. The Greeks came too, though mostly just to the south. Koreans as well, but a little to the southwest. And then, directly to Devon, came the Russians and Georgians and Croatians. And then came the Indians and the Pakistanis.
All of this happened in my lifetime, on a mile-or-so stretch of Devon Avenue. And here’s the thing: absolutely no one was ever forced to move into the hundreds of apartment buildings just off Devon Avenue, and no one was ever forced to rent a storefront there.
As a result, these people learned to get along.
The Russians who hated the Croatians (or Jews or whomever) didn’t have to live there or open a store there; they could choose another neighborhood or another commercial street…

The privatization movement and the deregulation movement have turned out to be failures.
Privatization in Britain under the Thatcher government had its origin in the belief that the absence of incentivized managers and shareholders with a stake in the bottom line resulted in nationalized companies operating inefficiently, with their losses covered by government like the big private banks’ losses today. Thatcher’s government believed that privatizing socialized firms would reduce the UK budget deficit and take pressure off the British pound.
Today privatization is a way that governments can reward cronies by giving them valuable public resources for a low price. When the UK government privatized the postal system, there were news reports that one postal property in London alone was worth the purchase price of the entire postal service.
Privatization is also a way that conservatives, who object to social pensions and national health, can stop “taxpayer support of welfare.†In the US conservatives want to privatize Social Security and Medicare. In the UK conservatives want to privatize the National Health System.
It looks like the UK Conservative government is taking a step in the direction of privatizing the national health system, one of the great social reforms in British history…
In the US there are advocates of privatizing the national forests. In some ways the forests are already privatized as private timber companies are allowed to “harvest†the trees at favorable prices, and often the government even builds the roads for them.
In the US deregulation has resulted in high prices and poor service. When airlines were regulated, they competed on service. They had spare equipment so that mechanical problems did not mean cancelled flights. Stopovers did not involve additional costs.
When AT&T had a regulated communication monopoly, the service was excellent and the price was low. Today we have a large number of unregulated local monopolies, and the prices are high. The bottom line and managerial bonuses are more important than service. Customers experience constant service interruptions. Maintenance and broadband improvements are sacrificed to executive salaries.

Donald Trump has a way with words—and with people. Yet despite his popularity, he has been a mystery to the media, which have mostly derided his campaign as consisting of nothing more than random insults and ignorant bluster.
Scott Adams, prolific author, blogger, and creator of the massively popular comic strip Dilbert, has a different theory. He tells Reason TV’s Zach Weissmueller that the media are being trolled by a skilled manipulator, or in Adams’s parlance, a Master Wizard. So exquisite does Adams believe Trump’s skills to be that he predicts The Donald will go on to win the presidency.
“What I [see] in Trump,” says Adams, is “someone who was highly trained. A lot of the things that the media were reporting as sort of random insults and bluster and just Trump being Trump, looked to me like a lot of deep technique that I recognized from the fields of hypnosis and persuasion.”
One such technique is what Adams describes as a “linguistic kill shot,” in which Trump uses an engineered set of words that changes or ends an argument decisively. According to Adams, when Trump describes Jeb Bush as low energy, Carly Fiorina as robotic, or Ben Carson as nice, he’s imprinting a label you already feel about these people. They’re not random insults, but linguistic kill shots that you can never get out of your mind.
Similarly, where the media see random insults, Adams sees Trump creating a significant polling gap between those who attack him and those who compliment him, resulting in chilled aggression from his opponents. Trump, says Adams, uses “anchors,” which are big, visual thoughts that drown out any other argument. Think, for example, of the billionaire’s florid descriptions of a Mexican border wall.
Adams also describes Trump’s use of “linguistic Judo,” vagueness, and a carefully developed persona to defend himself against attack and promote the image he desires.
“You see apple pie and flags and eagles coming out of his ass when he talks,” says Adams.

About half the time it is used, possibly more, the word “law†is nothing more than a Jedi mind trick. There is nothing noble, righteous, or even ‘conservative’ about it. It’s a way for you to be abused via ignorance and inertia.
We’ve all seen this trick in action, of course. It’s very common. And, sadly, more or less all of us have fallen (or rather, were pushed) into it at some point. That complicates things because people generally don’t like to admit their errors.
Nearly all of us have been taught, repetitively, to “respect the law,†and because of those teachings, nearly all of us have decided certain things must be right, simply because they were “the law.â€
We decided this, not because we understood the benefits that would follow certain actions, but because of the aforementioned ignorance and inertia.
It’s important to be clear on this: To uncritically, reflexively obey is not respect… it is to hold “the law†above reason… above reality. That, in simple terms, is worship.
Saying, “Everyone else did it too,†makes this no better.
It is also common for obedience to follow intimidation: Obey, or else… armed men will hurt you; teacher will shame you; the other kids will laugh at you; important people will criticize you in public. Please note all of these are primitive, degrading reasons. But they were thrust upon us as small, coerced children, and they very often stuck.
The really damaging part, however, comes after you obey reflexively or fearfully: when you leap to justify your past actions. Not many of us enjoy admitting our errors, but if we want to become honest, conscious adults, that is precisely what we need to do.

Yes, yes, I know the same automated slogans:
Without the law, all would be chaos and death!
Outside of law is tyranny!
We are a nation of laws, not of men!
Only law separates us from savages!
Please take a couple of deep breaths and continue.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif warned Saudi Arabia on February 16 not to deploy troops in Syria. «Those who are operating in Syria without the authority of the sovereign government in Syria are violating international law», he told a news conference at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The ability of Saudi Arabia to conduct a full-fledged military offensive in Syria is questioned.
Until the last year’s intervention in Yemen the Saudi military had taken part in a large scale military conflict only once. Saudi armed forces joined the US-led coalition in the campaign to liberate Kuwait from Iraq (operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, 1990-91).
Shortly after the occupation of Kuwait in the Persian Gulf War, Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan was chosen as the commander of the joint Arab forces and formally shared an equal position and responsibility with General Norman Schwarzkopf of US Army, Commander of the coalition forces that drove Iraqi troops out. The Saudi commander mainly dealt with expensive arms deals and allegedly walked away with a generous commission.
The second large scale operation was the invasion of Yemen launched in March 2015. As a result, the civilian death toll is 2.5 thousand. The country’s economy and infrastructure are devastated. The military gains are modest enough. Last July, Saudi-backed Yemeni militiamen captured Aden, the Yemen’s southern capital. The Saudi-led coalition failed to seize even Yemen’s Taiz, where the local population is hostile toward the Houthis.
If the Saudis knew the region’s history better, they would not have taken the decision to invade Yemen so easily, keeping in mind the military defeats suffered by Portugal in the ХVI century, Turkey in the XVII and XIX centuries and Great Britain in the ХХ century. Launch of an operation in Syria is doomed as Saudi Arabia’s military is bogged down in the drawn-out conflict Yemen.
No combat experience and lack of military strategy is only half the trouble. Big wars require big funds. The kingdom is going through hard times as oil prices go down. After the Arab Spring started in 2011, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud launched a $110 billion social benefits program, including pensions, cheap housing, the creation of 90 thousand of new working places (predominantly, in state structures and power agencies) and developing of the backward areas of the country. He wanted to keep people loyal and prevent anti-government protests.

Whatever you think about the man, his campaign has just acquired a new level of reality, after his victory in South Carolina. And the people who were looking to destroy him have greater reason to pursue their goal.
I’m not just talking about the Republican Party bosses. I’m talking about the Rockefeller Globalists, who are watching Trump attack their trade treaties, as he vows to bring jobs back to America. Those treaties are the Globalists’ holy of holies. They’re portals to an emerging world of much deeper poverty and suffering—and as such they’re vital to a new grotesque Globalist planetary order.
Trump now has a straight shot at the Republican nomination. Apparently, nothing he says, short of claiming God and Jesus are fairy tales, will affect his poll numbers.
One line of attack against him would occur at the nominating convention. If the GOP honchos, by hook or by crook, can keep Rubio and Cruz in the race, they might be able to enter the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, in July, with split numbers—no clear winner. After that split vote holds up on the first ballot, all bets are off. The brokers will move in and start making deals behind the scenes. Delegates can switch their positions.
The main target would be Cruz. Promise him the moon; get him to release his delegates and declare he favors Rubio, who is the GOP’s man. Rubio is who the Party bosses want.
But if Cruz stands firm, and if two or three more ballots fail to produce a winner, then the GOP would do a switch and tell Rubio that, for the sake of the Party, he has to fall on his sword and instruct his delegates to line up for Cruz. In other words, the GOP will do anything to stop Trump, including losing the general election.

I have a very uneasy feeling that the US President is about to set off a chain of events that will literally blow up the Middle East. Earlier I’ve detailed the very careful steps, seductions and actions of key players of the Obama Administration, from the President himself to Secretary of State John Kerry to CIA director, John Owen Brennan, to Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, General Joseph “Fightin’ Joe†Francis Dunford, Jr., Washington dirty tricks specialist and now UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey D. Feltman, and numerous others not in the spotlight. Their reactions to the provocative actions of Turkish Sultan-in-waiting, now mere Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as to Saudi Arabian King-in-waiting, Defense Minister Prince Mohammed Salman, in the months since the surprise Russian entry into the Syria war on the side of legitimately-elected President Bashar al-Assad, are clearly not result of a bumbling Washington policy disorder. Washington has set a huge, deadly trap for the delusional Saudi monarchy’s Prince Salman and his bosom buddy, Erdoğan. Now it looks like they are about to spring their trap.
First it’s useful to look a bit more closely into the UN-sponsored Geneva III “peace talks†which began the first week of February. The talks, despite Russian and Syrian efforts, have been a farce from the onset. The key UN point-person guiding the Geneva sabotage agenda is UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey D. Feltman.
Feltman-Bandar Plan
Feltman is a US State Department dirty tricks specialist who was Ambassador to Lebanon at the time of the 2005 Harari assassination. Before that Feltman served in Iraq in the aftermath of the US military invasion. Even earlier, he was posted to Yugoslavia, in the early 1980’s to play a role in Washington’s dismemberment of that country. His résumé suggests that he is a Washington specialist in their very-loved and very-often-practiced art of national dismemberment. Destruction of the Bashar al Assad regime is his current obsession. Not exactly a neutral peace mediator.
Indeed, in 2008, Feltman authored a secret plan with former Saudi Ambassador to Washington, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, nicknamed “Bandar Bush†by George W. Bush for his intimate ties to the Bush family. That Feltman-Bandar Plan was revealed in internal documents hacked in 2011 from the thousands of files of STRATFOR, the murky US “strategic intelligence†consultancy to the Department of Defense and military industry.

I’d love to be wrong. I see no evidence suggesting it. Diplomacy is futile without legitimate peace partners.
Syria and Russia have none – not America, its rogue Western or regional partners, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Israel.
Obama launched war on Syria in March 2011 to oust its sitting government, eliminate its sovereign independence, install another pro-Western puppet regime, isolate Iran ahead of repeating the same process – endless wars for unchallenged US dominance.
Make no mistake. Washington’s rhetorical support for peace talks to end nearly five years of war in Syria is pure subterfuge.
Its call for cessation of hostilities aims to get Russia to halt its effective war on terrorism – the key factor in rejuvenating Syrian forces, letting them retake lost territory, foiling America’s regional imperial agenda, essential for any future chance for peace.
Going along with any US proposed peace or other diplomatic initiative assures disaster. They’re advanced to be breached, to give America a one-sided advantage.
Its sordid history provides ample proof. Hegemons want things their way, forcing their will on other nations, waging war or ousting independent leaders by coups when other methods fail.
All US duopoly power presidential aspirants support the same ugly agenda – pax Americana, eliminating all independent governments, endless wars on humanity, not a peace candidate among them, willing to risk war on Russia and China to rule the world unchallenged.
When lunatics run the asylum, the worst of all outcomes is possible. America gives new meaning to rogue state terror. Peace and stability defeat its imperial agenda…

Sergei Naryshkin, the Chairman of the Russian Parliament says that the growing tensions in international relations result from Washington’s lack of morals and violations of international law:
“The increasing crisis in international relations is rooted in Western nations’ lack of morals and their reluctance to observe basic norms of international law,†State Duma chairman Sergey Naryshkin has said.
“The tensions in the international situation have seriously increased over the past few years and this happens primarily because a group of Western nations, first of all, the United States of America, are neglecting the major principles of international law or interpret them freely,†Interfax quoted the Russian parliamentary leader as saying at a meeting with law students on Monday.
“I would be more direct – it happens due to the lack of morals,†Naryshkin added. He emphasized that the argument of “American exceptionalism†often used by many US politicians was against not only the legal principle of equality of all nations and peoples, but also contradicted basic human morality.

The Duma speaker also said that at the moment he considered Russia as the key protector of the basic foundations of international law. He noted that as one of the victor nations in World War II, Russia played a decisive role in introducing international law and that it had paid a great price for this achievement.In May 2015, Naryshkin published an article in the Rossiiskaya Gazeta daily in which he urged European politicians to stop heeding advice from the United States and to start working on common Eurasian economic interests with Russia. If this doesn’t happen, Washington will eventually destroy the EU’s economic sovereignty by skillful manipulation of WTO mechanisms, Naryshkin wrote.
Naryshkin has a good point. Until the advent of the “war on terror,†torture was a rarely used tool of post-WW II governments in Europe and the US. But in the 21st century illegal torture became so commonplace that a magazine, Torture, was created to expose and combat torture.
